Angry Orange Permatex!

How much should I worry? I have owned this 73' teener since November, runs fine or as fine as any other 914. I changed the oil and found orange RTV in the screen. I noticed also that the engine builder has all the pushrod tubes done also, I could see it when I was adjusting the valves. Now I have put quite a few miles on it and no problems (just FI, now fixed). Can some of that stuff flake off and do some damage? What are my options? Thanks

only thing i could think of is if the rtv gets into the oil passages and clogs them up and causes oil starvation.

oh yeah... I think I worked for the guy who cornered the market on Permatex part #26B- see I even know the number!!
Very knowledgable and cool old school mechanic but He PILED it on everything, I learned to install dry seals after working for him.
It ended up everywhere but we never had it cause a problem in an engine. A decent chunk could plug something up, but it's hard to imagine... If it was me, drive it change the oil more often than you think until its clean and WATCH the oil light/guage.
