Tachometer question

Hi,

Please help me:

I want to install an extra tachometer gauge of 914 that I have on my vw bug.

3 connectors

1.- Switch or positive
2.- ground or negative
3.- signal - COIL OR ALTERNATOR ?

let me know

thanks and regards

Eduardo.

Most all coil/distributor driven tachs are connected the same: positive = +12volts, negative = good ground and signal = coil connection which on a 914 is usually the black w/purple stripe wire. Good luck

That's the (-) connection on the coil, the same one that the distributor points connect to.
