FI fuel rail bead ?
I'm in the process of collecting tools and parts for my project car.
I bought a double flare tool. I'm going to get a 37 degree and a double flare tool. But what tool makes that bead/bump in the fuel rails. I'd like to put two on the bottom of the fuel tank. Whats it called ? And any idea where to get one ?

i don't remember any flares on the FI rails. the little bump is like a ferrule used with compression fittings. i'd say that if you can't get real fuel rails that you could probably get away with not using the bump if the clamp is tight enough. not sure if the fuel pressure is enough to push the hose off the rail. fuel rails should be easy enough to get on any used parts BBS.

Jim, exactly. It looks like a built in ferrule.
My fuel rails are ok. I'd just like to have the tool to use in other applications.

See, just that little info you found. Sent me in the right direction. Just needed the correct name.
http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/EPP/EPPCAT/TubeBead.html Looks like this is real deal. The one you would want. I bit too much for the DIY'r. Maybe I'll need it someday. But then REAL cheap insurance for a 914 fire. ![]() ![]() http://www.aircraft-tool.com/shop/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=AP145 Another one ...........I'm done searching. http://www.myles-rec.com/Aviation%20Accessories/folder1/Aircraft%20Tools/ACtools2/actoolspg2.html

The small 3/8 is $25. The 1/2 is $28 at Summit. I read it too fast. The spec. is OD. I thought it was ID, so it would have been too big. I'll let you know how it works. I want to bead the tubes at the bottom of the fuel tank. Hopefuuly I'll be a happy ![]() ![]()
