Porsche Crest from 944 to 914

I am considering getting a 914 and I have an 87 944S that I so savagedly wrecked a couple of months ago. What kind of parts would I be able to use on the 914 from the 944? In other words, brakes, suspesion, tranny, etc. I was going to part out my 944, but the more I look at the 914 the more I like it! Any thoughts?

wanna guess?

I'm pretty sure the only thing that works in both is a driver.

no, it is the S model. It has the 16 valve head as opposed to the 8 valve. I thought i read some where that someone had used the rotors and hubs from a 944. Would I be able to use these parts to do the 5 lug conversion? I'm just curious, because I see people using the parts off of older 911's and I wondered if there is anything useful from the 944.

Outboard stub axles and CV joints from aluminum trailing arm (turbo only?) can be used in a conversion, they fit the 914-4 shafts I'm told. there might be better choices depending on the size of the six used. There are a number of combinations for this conversion, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Your ignition switch will fit the teeners steering column.

The wiper/windshield washer control assembly for a 924 can be used in the 914. This lets you use the electric washer switch to replace the pneumatic switch in the 914. I don't know if the 944 is the same as the 924.

The more I look at both the 914 and 944, the more I see. I have used the 924 wipe/wash switch with a little help from PP tech article.
Search on 911 ebrake and see how I have put 944S2 calipers on my '74 3ltr.
Have used the 944 front hubs and S2/Turbo rotors to get the correct swept radius for the caliper. After all, they were built to work that way. Other than that I go with "only the driver" views.
Wilco.
