2.7 Value?
 

Okay.... I gotta question:
I know a guy who has an engine, says its a 2.7R, out of his 77'.
I can get it for what I consider a good deal. And I'm POOR.
Anyhow, I'm picking it up in the morning, it ran well but smoked had 150K on it, was removed COMPLETE and sits in his shop.
Has updated chain tensioners (oil fed) and some other updates and good stuff.
Any idea of a ballpark value?
I doubt I can afford to upgrade everything on my 914 to make the /6 usable in the car AND rebuild the 2.7 so I probably hafta part with it.
I tried the 911 board but noone's talking, anyone here have an idea?

well if it is smoking 1000 bucks it what it is worth


look at it this way you can buy a good 2.7 for 3 grand or rebuild that one for 4 grand plus purchase, a 2000 dollar difference. but for 2 grand you would never have to rebuild it again.

if you are on a budget getting a good running motor will be way cheaper now.
