914 engine stand

Looking for a cheaper alternative than what Performance Products is offering for an engine stand for a 2.0L. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try this site: http://www.empius.com/e/enginestand.html Remember, the stand bolts to the left or right half of the case and not accross. L. M cC

How much do you want to spend? I bought one of these for about $40 US but I still have to buy an adapter ring from Pelican for $140. I'm not sure that you can do it cheaper.

I bought a similar stand (to Alfred1) from Harbor Freight tools and simply modified one of the arms by drilling a new hole in it, and then I took a small bite out of all 4 of the tubes on the arms so as not to smash the lip that mates with the transmission. I didn't split the case though, but you would probably be OK since you'd have alot of the weight off by the time you'd need to hold it up with 2 out of the 4 bolts. Steve

Sorry. You could get the EMPI ceramic coated and raise the price. Plus, it will provide 10 more BHP in the engine you build Really through, I have a engine stand from the FLAPS and have never found a way to adapt the EMPI to the stand. It seems that a adapter sleeve would work. But for $15, how wrong can you go? L. McC
