2.0 Exhaust Valves

I'm going to be rebuilding a set of 2.0 heads. I don't want to go with stainless steel valves, but the $50-$60 (each) cost of sodium filled's is getting me down. Does anyone have an aftermarket alternative or other less costly suggestion?

I recently went through the same delima. The problem is that you really will have to rebuild the heads much sooner if you don't use the sodium filled valves. I was lucky enough to find a shop with some trash heads with 2 used but serviceable valves.

I had looked through every concievable alternative and the only thing that I could even come up with was over oil cooling it. This would still not really deal with the heat in the manner the sodium valves do. . .

Ian

BTW

I only used this option BECAUSE I TRUST MY MACHINIST! Still I sympathize.

Thanks Ian - I saw your other post about a machinist in Atlanta. I am also in Atlanta and will give Grimes a try. I have two sets of used 2.0 exhaust valves with unknown mileage. I'll get their opinion and see how many new ones I need to buy.

Brian - anywhere in particular you would suggest looking for the valves?
