HELP! cant get the rear calipers to back off!
I'm probaly not doing something right!
but i can not get the calpers <pads> to back off the disk! Any information would help alot! Mike |
are you talking about the inside pad or the outside pad?.. there's a *small* allen screw on the inside of the trailing arm.. it might have a plastic cap over the allen screw preventing access, you'll have to take that off first.
good luck.. i never liked dealing with the rear calipers.. Jeff |
the piston is a ratchet type, you have to back is off by unscrewing it. i think the inside piston and the outside pistons have to be turned in opposite directions to back them out, anyway, look in the haynes or better, look at the tech articles on this site as there is one specifically for replacing brake pads where it tells how to back the pistons out.
