I need your help
 

Hello All,
I have a stock '73 914 1.7L . The car has been running fine until recently. The car starts fine, but after a couple minutes of warming up, the engine dies. It will not start again until I let it set for an hour or so. Then the same thing happens. I asked this question a couple months ago, and the only reply I received was to check to make sure all the vacuum hoses were in good condition. All the hoses are alright. Today I went through the process of replacing the cylinder head temperature sensor. Even with the new sensor, the car stalled out again after running only a couple minutes. I REALLY NEED AN EXPERTS HELP. Can any of you tell me what to do next? I really appreciate your advise. Thank you. :confused:

Use the info on Brad Anders' d-jet page to troubleshoot your system. You can also use this test chart.

Things to check

1. See if the AUX air valve is working correctly (closes when engine is hot)
2. Remove the plug to the brain. Measure the resistance of the head temp sensor. Could be a broken wire in the harness.
3. Run a dianostics with the DME tester.
4. Check that the Cold Start valve is not dumping fuel into the motor. Remove the CSV with the hose attached and Fuel pump running. There sould not be any fuel squirting out the end.
