914 advice needed
Hi, i too have come across and opportunity to buy a '75 914.i've always been a dub head, had a 68 ghia for years, and now own a water-pumper GTI. i've also always been a 356/911 enthusiast but can easily make and exception for the 914 which would/could arguably be one of the best cars to indulge my racing fantasies.. it has no engine, its
originally from TX, so it has very little rust that i could see.. one fender had been hit and fixed that i could tell, otherwise the body was pretty straight. the floors looked good, but i didn't get into either of the trunks as they were buried under stuff.. its pretty stripped down. all trim and rocker panels off. he says/thinks he has most of the misc. parts and can scroung up a transmission/axles and a block to rebuild. he wants 1k for it. what can i expect and what should i consider doing to make it into a mean autox car.? where should i start?? any and all info appreciated.. feel free to email privately if you wish.. Many thanks.. chris Lawrence, KS |

If you have the time and extra $$$$ it will take along with the skill necessary to do it all, I'd buy it since the body without rust or very little is good to have. Good luck.
