I still cant believe this...
It's late at the office and I was surfing. I took a gander at the AA webpage. They actually have a banner advertisement up on their home page LOOKING for a rust free 914 chasis! That's right - they are not SELLING a chasis but LOOKING for one. I can't believe it, on the same page listing all of the "rebuildable rust free cars" on their back lot. I don't mean to bash - but I thought it extremely funny.

Speaking of upstanding biz practices, try typing in the following:
www.automobileatlanta.com You may be surprised! [This message has been edited by Jim T (edited 03-14-2000).] |

Thats pretty sweet. Now as long as Auto ATL isnt trademarked and Pelican has registered this address, the guys at pelican could be nice and sell it to AA for a couple hundred Gs.

i think it's more like some person thinking "i saw an advertisement for automobile atlanta's website, but don't remember the URL. I'll try automobileatlanta.com, that makes sense. huh? that's not the name of the company. hmm... 914 parts... might as well give them a try..."

This could bite you, some mad customer goes to send hate mail to AA (wonders how many times that happens in a day and if AA has a dedicated server for it) and end up at PP. They then think PP is AA with a name change and send bad mail to PP.

Yea, I saw a TV news magazine once where HS kids would register a web address (cost about $75) and then would sell it to big companies for lots of money. The trick is to not take a trademarked name. In fact Porsche led a lawsuit with a few other companies that made it illegal to register sites with trademarked names (such as www.Porsche.com) if you dont own the trademark. The big one I remember is some 17 year old kid registering drugs.com, then selling it to one of the big ones for 1/4 of a million!
