Oil cooler......75 1.8L
Has anyone replaced oil cooler seals on a 75 1.8L while in the car?
I just got done with the seals and I am having a terrible time putting the bolt in the bracket that is at the end of the cooler. There is only about an inch of room between the sheet metal and the fan shroud, where the bracket mounts. Does anyone have any good ideas on the best way to accomplish this? Is the bracket at the end of the cooler really needed? going crazy in oregon..............................

hmmmm. when i did mine, i don't think i removed the bolt and bracket. if you removed it to do the seals, you should be able to replace it: if it goes out, it must go in. keep working on it and good luck. take a break now and then before you break something (BTDT)
