Hella Light conversion
Can anyone recommend a good place to order Hella lighting? I'M contimplating an enclosed housing using Hella's 90mm headlights (doing away with the pop-ups). This is out of necessity because the lights on my 914 are somewhat screwed up and a PO has already attempted their own conversion, cut away small sections on the upper bumper (916 bodied fiberglass) just under each light. Their is a kit made by "turbo914.com" but I can't get in touch with the guy - my emails are returned, maybe he's on our list? To see what I'm talking about check out midtennmiata.com, their sets are nice but may not fit the 914 so I want to make my own. Hella's website has links but I'd prefer a recommendation and suggestion, comment are welcomed. TIA.

I do like the way those Miata lights are done. Nice & simple. I was wondering (not for my car, I like its lights) if you could fabricate something with the new, smaller light housings that would fit in the top of the corner light/ turn signal housing. It would be like a 911, only squished....Of course if you have a very strict inspection then it would have to be a first class job.

GPR sells the standard size US beam in a H4 format. 800-321-5432.
Pelican may have them as well. Be advised that you MAY be get cited by moving them under the lip of the bumper. There is a height minimum for headlights. Best to keep the old ones in place and just tell the officer that they are "auxillary driving lights"....
