Under Dash Access
I have found a few articles regarding the dash removal. I think I can do it but I am wondering what kind of access I will have once it is out. Will I be able to get to the light, hazard, and cig lighter? Or is there a metal shell under the top dash pad?

You do not have to disassemble the dash to get the light and emergency flasher switches out. The easy way is to pull the batt + conn, drop the fuse panel down (2 screws), remove the knob and then unscrew the chrome plated round nut that has the slot in the middle where the switch shaft comes out. I made a tool from a cheap set of 90 degree angle needle nose pliers so the tips fit into the slot and I unscrew it. You can then pull the switch assy out the back. Before you unhook anything, take some digital picts so you can remember which wire goes where. The cigarete lighter has a stamped steel retainer in back that you can get with your hand if you reach up under the dash. Good luck.
