Is anyone aware of Garage Los Panchos recent work? Are they still in business? The idea of getting my 911 painted this year is beginning to look like a real topic and this shop has been a topic in multiple conversations.

Several things to think about if you go to get paint and/or body work done: Take the title for the car especially if you trailer it like I used to although once I did drive the race car in/out and the border patrol had fits when I came through the check point with racing headers only on the "big four". Give them as much time as they want, don't rush them.
Make sure to have the originals owner's son itemize every thing. Take about 30 to 40% of the estimated cost to leave as a deposit. Tip the "secretary $20 to $40 for keeping track of everything. If you trailer the car do not have extra wheels/tires on it. Ask for a "three stage" paint job I.E. base coat of pearl, color and then clear and use the Mexican Dupont epoxy paint. Their paint is better than ours in America! If you have the old R-12 AC system Mexico still has R-12 and they'll get the AC guys to fix things. Same with windshields.

How do I know this, I had a neighbor that told me about them in 1996 when I first bought my 914-4 as he would fix up s Karman Gia 3 or 4 times a year and sell them. I used them starting in 1998 3 times (red paint twice and blue once) and my buddy Ted used them at least twice I know of on his 356 models. One was an "A" model and eventually won a big concours for the Porsche club.
