914 valve spring compressor tool
 

Does anyone know where I can find a valve spring compressor tool or can I use the tool designed for a type 1 or type2 engine.

The spacing on a T1 valve spring fixture is wrong for T4 heads. Here's what the factory tool for T4 heads looks like. Most any of the "C" clamp style tools will do the job.

I tried with my friends c-clamp , did not work.The reach was the problem.Atleast on his tool.I could not compress the springs , without first touching the edge of the head.

Bought a really simple one from SEARS.Universal type.Cost about 12 $.That will compress with a threaded piece , hooks under the spring.Worked OK , little fiddly though.....
