914 headlights

Have ignition turned on,pull the headlight switch on, hit the lever to switch to high beams and the headlights go out. All other lights remain on. Is the problem typically the high beam relay, the switch in the column lever, or some loose ground somewhere?
Thanks for responses/guidance!

Finally figured out the problem on the headlights. It was the relay located on the fuse panel under the dash. Thanks for the help.
