Anyone using the Ignitor II fom Pertronix?
I'm assuming that the "91847A" unit is the correct one for our cars?

Don't know anyone who's using the "II," so you'd be the first.
Anyone who's running an Ignitor is using the original "I." http://www.pelicanparts.com/pmpre/im...WavingFlag.gif http://www.pelicanparts.com/pmpre/images/Rouser/GWB.jpg http://www.danasoft.com/vipersig.jpg |
The applications listed (050, 009) are non-vacuum distributors. You may wind up having to grind things to clear the vacuum advance/retard arm. People had to do that with the original Pertronix for a while, before a revised version that had more clearance came out.

Alfred,
Did you end up trying one of the new Ignitor II's? My Ignitor module just died and I need to order a replacement. The features in the new generation sound good but I'm hesitant to order one if its not going to fit. |
Rob, I haven't tried the Ignitor II yet but check out what John from aircooled.net wrote in this thread.

That's the one that I'm running on a 009 in my Karmann Ghia. It works great. Make sure you get the Ignitor II coil to go with it. That will ensure that you get enough spark.
Thanks, Kevin |
Make sure you have qan extra set of points when it fails on you in the middle of nowhere.
I'm Crane optical trigger fan. Petronix is a fishing lure if you ask me.... |
