engine rebuild

I hope some one can help me on this. I'm doing a complete rebuild on my engine for the first time and I'm wanting a 2056cc out of my 1.8 L . What parts have to be changed in doing this rebuild?

crank, pistons, rods, and have your cylinders machined(opened up), all the bearings(rods and mains)
a cam and headwork to do it the right way.
a 2056 is 71 stroke and 96mm bore
your 1.8 is 66mm stroke, and 93mm bore...
the cranks also have different rod journals.

I'm probably forgetting something, but it's not cheap... ask Jake about a 2056 KIT... the best way to go!

how much does the kit cost?

depends on what you want to do with it... only way to know is to call him... it's a great deal because he balances everything... I talked to him about a 2270 kit, so the price he quoted me won't apply to the 2056...

Do a search on PP and 914club for engine rebuild. Someone last week had a complete list of needed parts.
Good luck.

Other than the cost of the crank there's probably not much difference in cost.

Yes, the cost is quite a bit more. As the displacement rises so does EVERY OTHER ASPECT OF THE COMBINATION! If not, its nothing more than you could piece together out of a magazine, or Tweeks catalog.

The kits come with all machine work done to the customers case as well, so as the work increases so do the prices.

The prices change vastly sometimes depending on the customers core, the stage of configuration needed to achieve the customers goal, and the parts we have in stock, and what I had to pay for them...

I have had prices vary 1500.00 in just one month in the past for the same kit...all due to parts cost.

As a general rule 2056 kits are around 3850.00 and 2270s are around 5,000.00 +/- according to your core.
