Thermostat return spring / diverter shaft ?
 

Hey Folks, thought I'd throw one more out there -
Anyone have a pic / description of how it's supposed to be hooked up? Example - spring goes under or over the case tab, and does the tab on the shaft (where you clamp the cable) face up or down when hot?

I don't have any pictures of the setup but the tab where the thermostat wire is should be down when the engine is cold (cooling flaps closed). As the thermostat warms up it expands and the tab will go up (which opens the cooling flaps). Hope that helps.

Got it, thanks a lot. I searched but for some reason I was entering it wrong - then I used your "Cooling flaps" and a bazillion posts came up, with pix even!
