1.7 electrical questions
Ok guys I'm need of dire assistance here. I've read the wiring diagram about 3 million times. On the solenoid on the starter there are 3 prongs know one is the yellow wire for the ingnition but what hooks into the other 2 prongs? According to the Haynes diagram theres nothing but the yellow wire going there. Am I over looking something? Also coming from the relay plate the engine wiring harness where does the green & brn wire plug into? They are the 2 lead wires.

As far as I remember, nothing else hooks up to the "spade clips" except the yellow trigger wire. The only other wirse going to the starter are the Alt and the Pos.
As for the green and brown wires, if they are two seperate wires (one green, one brown) I think they are for the heater blower/fan .. you can test them to see if the lever by the shifter triggers them (when all the way up). Ofcoarse, the contacts in that lever often get coroded and need cleaning to work properly. Again, this is just from memory - I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time). I'll take a look next time I'm out fiddling with one of my cars (should be in about an hour or so) .. -Paul |

Hi there. If you check the electrical diagram in our parts diagrams section, you will see that indeed, the green and brown wires from the relay board power the hot air fan.
Also, on some starters, there is an extra spade clip that doesn't really plug into anything. I have one car with only one clip, and another car with two. Thanks, Wayne |
