Inside door latch assembly- source?

Some springs finally gave up the ghost after 33 years (luckily didn't happen on a vintage car tour I was on a month ago!) on my original owner '71 914. Where can I find the whole assembly to replace or maybe just the springs? Pelican search came up empty... Driver's side of course.

German Parts and Restoration... they have lots of used parts.

Another note, the inside door latch assembly doesn't have a spring on it. Its actions are to open the door from inside, and when the small lock lever is in the lock position, it mechanically keeps that inside handle from opening, thus locking the door. As for the mechanism in the door that latches the door shut, its what has all the springs, and another lever that the separate outside door handle then ingages for locking/unlocking and opening. If it feels like your spring is gone, you need the inside mechanism. If your inside opening/locking mechanism is halfway dangling/ needs to be pushed at the back while pulling the end to get the door open, that is the part you need to replace.

Hope that helps, if its too greek, send me a PM, i'll help however much i can. I have spent lots of time working with this system, to the extent that my door panels are going to work just like a 911 RSR door panel, pull strap and locking knob by the triangle window. Good luck, Don.

It's the assembly that fits into the door held by 3 phillips screws. Found broken spring halfs in the door bottom. Don't know if it's worth trying to fix with new springs or just get another one. Only problem is that one will be 30+ years old too! Thanks for the tip- I'll try them... (and check my old factory workshop manuals...)
