Idle won't come down!

Ok I have a 73 2.0, FI, everything stock. It starts up fine & idles fine. But when I accelerate the idle won't come down unless I tap the gas pedal. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Im guessing that 1 of 2 things is happening.

1 - the spring for the TB is no longer functioning correctly.

2 - The cable for the acc is getting stuck

I dont see how this could be a F.I. issue unless is the deaccel valve. To test this, try pinching off the hoses so no air flows through the valve next time it happens.

Good Luck

Ok guys, I sealed off the small hose on the decel valve but it didn't change anything. Or do I need to do it to all 3 hoses?
