2.0-4 Header Options

Hello,

Cracked Heat Exchanger. Broken Heart.

Anyone have info on a replacement set of Headers (I only drive in the summer) or where to locate new Exchangers? i.e. success rate, vendors, installation difficulty.

Thanx

Tony

I've had good luck with SSI's stainless heat exchangers. I bought mine thru Performance Products. Not sure why PP doesn't carry them. Guys??

As for a true header, I've had good luck with a Garretson 914 header. I don't know if they are still available or not.

Pelican does indeed carry SSIs.

Uhm... Errr.... Well, we did carry them for years; I'm not sure why they're listed as NLA. I suggest phoning 888-280-7799 and asking our Sales staff if we can get them or not.

Garretson's has been out of business for rather more than a decade by now. Garretson headers as such are not available (except every once in a while used), but the design has been inherited (through one or two intermediaries) and improved by Chris Foley, at http://www.tangerineracing.com . Far from cheap.

http://www.kerryhunterenterprise.com has the cheapest of the effective headers that I know of. Also the least effective. (They work pretty decently, but others work better.)

European Racing (no contact info, sorry!) has headers that are partway in price between the earlier two listed, and are supposed to be about halfway in performance between them as well.

Got a set of 4 into 1 headers, worked great for 5,000miles, but need to part motor to save up for a 6. $550 strong. Let me know, thanks, Don.

Thanx man,

I am checking into some options, but I will keep your 4-->1 in mind!
