Well, I guess it's really my son's car - atleast he thinks so!
Here's another shot of the 914.

So how do you reach the pedals and the shifter?

Haha, sorry!

Very nice, what width wheels are they, are you using spacers, and are the flares f/g or steel?

Scooter,
the wheels are 8"x15" on all 4 with 245s on the back and old junk tires on the fronts in a crazy unknown size BUT 225s will be going back on the fronts. 1" spacers on the back I believe (haven't removed the back wheels yet). I absolutely love the way the 245s look on this car but they seem to be pretty rare in a 15" size, so I hope I can locate them when the time comes. Flares are F/G and solid.

Really cool car Doug. Love the wheels and flares. Your son must have very strong arms to steer it with 8" 225's on the front.

Thanks for the comments - believe it or not those blue wheels have kind of grown on me in the 2 months I've had the car, hated the look at first. I'll probably have them stripped and anodized one day when I can afford it.

Bah, for a racer the blue wheels give it more character. I'd stick with them. Could always get a set of polished paddle ones for street and the blues for the track....now you're talkin.

The tangerine (blood red) paint is original to the car but was repainted 3 years ago. It's a pretty good job but I plan to have both trunk lids resprayed again when I have the roof painted (after I smooth it out). Those lids are slightly faded and I can't seem to be able to buff them out to my satisfaction, I assume a single stage paint was used. I don't know what made the PO paint the wheels blue.. It will have gloss black rocker covers and valances. I thought about painting the intire wheels (even the outer lip), gloss black also. I like that no-nonsince blacked out look but it might end up being the wrong thing to do to a good set of original 8" Fuchs, I don't know..

Doug,

Here is a pic. I kept just for the Fuchs shown, I like the look of the uniform color on the wheels, especially when done in silver or a uniform media blasting followed by clear coat powder coat. The fuchs really look good in uniform color.

Yeah, I love the look of those wheels. I thought they had to be polished out to look like that - do you think those are just clear coated dull aluminum? Wonder what solid black would look like? I'll do a search. Thanks for the pic.
