What do I threadlock inside the engine?

I am about to start putting my engine back together and was wondering where I put loctite and where i do not. I do not want to have to take the engine back out and apart because something came loose.

TIA
Paul

Buy Tom Wilson's VW rebuild book at Borders or online.

Only time not to use loctight (BTW there are several different colors intended for different things) is if you are useing assembly lube for the proper torque reading.

At the very least, if you have an aftermarket cam, use it on the bolts that hold the gear to the cam, and on the windage tray. The rods are heald on by peening the nut, read more about it in the book.

I know about the different colors...there are also different numbers associated with each. I believe the red is the strongest...which makes it a real bear to undo a bolt. I am getting a different cam and knew about putting the threadlock on the bolts.

Another question,

does anyone have the aftermarket hi volume oil pump...and if so, does it leak around it a lot?

Paul
