OT Geo Tracker ECM / fuel inj prob

Hello and happy Monday!
Okay, sorry for the off topic, but I know many of you have knowledge of modern systems as well as what we are used to seeing on our 914s, so I bet there's someone here who has encountered this or knows what to do.......
I have a 1992 Geo Tracker (Sidekick), 1.6L 5 speed, and the fuel injector isn't firing. Everything else works, however I've narrowed it down to that. Now, I've read that there's a fix for the fuel injector circuit that doesn't involve taking off or replacing the computer - it's a bypass of some sort. A very simple system, however I haven't found anywhere yet where this fix is described.
Anyone here have an idea?
Thanx in advance doods!
Jeff

I'd go in the order of easiest to change stuff; swap with another injector to see if it is the injector itself; check the electrical output at the plug compared to the others;trace the wires for a break or other; after that it's probably the ECU. Are you getting a "Check Engine' light? If so did you read out the code and check the chart?

I fixed it! Thanks for the help - I did another search and found some clown on ebay selling a 30 dollar solution for the "common fuel circuit problem with 90-94 trackers and sidekicks" - the next search I did yielded a guy who actually posted the directions - it was to jump the black wire from the coilpack, to the red wire on the fuel injector. Voila, it started right up. Apparently, this is what people are doing to fix it, however I want to make certain there's nothing else wrong (the bulletins say it's a fualty fuel circuit in the computer), so I'll check the codes next.
Now that it's running, I can move it out of the way so I can finish ny 914, yaaay

Thanks again, y'all
Jeff
