GPM of an oil cooler for 3.0
Any one know the GPM for requirements for a 3.0 SC engine.
Also, I must run two coolers, so should they be in series or parallel... Oh, any luck using Tru Cool coolers?? Thanks |

Why would you run two coolers? I use the 930 cooler with fan combo in my trunk....it works well in combo with the stock oil cooler on the engine....is that count as two?

The reason for 2 tru cool oil coolers is that I am going to mount them behind the rubber bumbers of my '75 (my preference). I am going to cut the frame of the bumber in two places & the biggest cooler I can use is a 24 row cooler about 11" x 5"x 1.5".
I just not sure to run them in parallel or series. Any one used Tru Cool before? Thanks... |

What ever you decide, make sure:
1) the cooler should have at least 12AN hose fittings and hoses. 2) Use a top quality cooler. Earls, for instance. 3) Use an external thermostat of high quality. Troutmans has a good one. This stuff ain't cheap, but neither is a blown motor. I've never heard of the cooler you mentioned. That doesn't mean it's no good, just an unknown. The Racers Group is a good bunch to find waht you need. I'm going to need a cooler to go with the 2.7L I'm building. I figure about $1K for the goodies. JPIII |
