Cooling without the thermostat
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in removing the flaps that regulate airflow over the engine to allow max air flow all of the time. Do you need to keep the flap over the oil cooler in placed and should this be in the down position or locked half'n'half.

screw the flap down.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1097928240.jpg

Also make sure that the oilcooler air seal is in place.

so it you screw down the oil cooler flap, do you leave the crossbar flaps piece completely out then?
|
If you have screwed it down there is no need for the crossbar.

It is better, IMHO, to leave the thermostat system hooked up and working. As long as you can get it working correctly. It's a Good Thing to get the engine up to operating temperature quickly.
