An interesting comparison test for us VW fans ...

Alfred ..
Performance/Rough Ride vs Less Performance/Comfort?
Passion vs Logic?
If you can transend/ignore brand loyalty I bet most 914ers would select the rice burner.

Having said that I'd purchase the VW because when it comes to primary cars ( i.e. the one I share with the family) logic and comfort rule.

Did you notice the link on the lower part of that page. It looks VW is going to actually produce a 21st Century Heir to the 914 .
I'm excited! It's kinda like putting the VR6 in a teener!

I dunno ... a go-kart harsh ride gets old pretty quick on the street plus they say the VW R32 is genuinely fun to drive. Check out how they gush over it in this article .

That will be cool. Hopefully they have the same guys working on it that produced the R32. Did you see the article on the new GTi? The thing has a top speed of 150 mph!

One interesting thing to note, for all you cone-dodgers out there. Is that for SCCA autox, the R32 is classed in D-Stock, where the Mitsu EVO and Subie STi are classed in A-Stock. Still, it has to contend with the regular WRX and the ever competitive Type R.

This looks like it could almost be the new mid-engined VW roadster. It even has a VR6 motor.

Hey Alfred what's the deal with you and the VR6? Do you have one in your 914?

I just bought one from a '99 GTi. Only 32,000 miles. Can you tell I'm excited? I hope it fits!
