auxil.air bypass valve...
Good day to all, I normally don't beg for parts on this post, however, the part in question is no longer made. The 2.0l auxil. air bypass switch that feeds additional air the the cold start valve is kaput. The valve never closes all the way after warm up. Does anyone want to part with one? For cash?.
This is the cause of my slight hesitation during cruising speed and the cause of a back fire as the throttle is opened after shifting gears... |

Sometimes the aux air valve can be cleaned and made to work again. I just squirted some WD-40 in mine and it helped. I've heard that others have actually disassembled it and cleaned out corrosion or even just soaked it in cleaner/lubricant.
Have you tried to repair yours? |

Yes, I have gone the wd-40 deal with some success. I have to get the engine real hot before it will close. Unless I race around the engine normally won't get that hot. I used a propane torch to bench test. I went for the freezer to the supplying 12v and unless I heat with the torch it will not close all the way... I am reluctant to open it up untill I have secured a back up. thanks, lsg
