914, highly evolved

My brother (NOT a car guy!) sent me this link. Perhaps this is what a 914 might have become if MB had produced it.

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/?http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/previews/previews_story.php?id=45917

But the P-car folks did pretty OK, too, with their latest, wouldn't you say?

OK, you have to get around the sign-up page but it's a Pagani Zonda Roadster you'll see reviewed. 0-62 in 3.7. That's just a little faster than a 914....

Too bad it ain't yellow, 'cause we know yellow cars are faster.

I hear ya, I was a Lotus Esprit fan back in the late 70's myself. I still think it's automotive sculpture in a lot of ways even if it's looks are getting to be a bit dated now.

I like the new esprit, much cheaper than the last model, even if it does have less power... it really IS like a new 914

I rented a Jeep grand chickory on my last biz trip...hatted it. sloppy, heavy, slow but very pimped out and comfy. I was amazed at what I saw people doing in their cars as they drove down the road. I even got flashed in Kentucky

I actually saw a Pagini Zonda on the road in Malibu. Probably the most exotic car I've seen being driven on the street, just above several F-40's and a 550 Barachetta.
