emblem reattach
i need to reattach my '914 2.0' emblems on the rear of my car after some body work. i'd like to be more accurate than a guesstimate from a photo. so, i'm asking if someone would run out with a ruler and take a couple of quick measurements, i.e. over from the trunk lock, from bottom and top edges, space in between. much thanks to anyone that makes the effort

Lucky for you I don't have the emplems on right now.
From the right end of the base gasket of the trunk lock. first hole center: 5 3/16" second hole ctr: 8" third hole ctr: 10 11/16" forth hole ctr: 12 11/16" From the top edge of the panel you are drilling into, I didn't use the bumper top because 70-74 and 75-76 have differnt ones and the rubber may sag or be displaced by an accedent. Use the tang on a measuring tape to hook the top edge and you should get the same measurments. first hole ctr: 1 29/32" second hole ctr: 1-29/32" third hole ctr: 1-3/4" Fourth hole ctr: 1-19/32" Notice the third and forth hole DO NOT line up. I have a 75 2.0L the 1.7L and 1.8L symbols may be different. Also, why dosen't your car have them, is it a 76 with the stick-ons. Personally I'd keed the stick ones rather than put any more holes to rust in my car ![]() |
