My first word of advice, having learned the hard way, is don't plan on replacing them yourself. Here's what I did. The through bolt at the front of the arm is mounted at two points. I removed the inside nut and removed the three bolts that mount the outer bracket to the chasis. I also removed the rear brake caliper, undid the axle from the transmission and removed the bolt that mounts the shock absorber to the arm. Then I took the whole assembly (axle and arm)to a local shop that works on Porsches. They pressed out the bolt, installed my new bushings (which I provided, along with grease) and reinstalled the bolt. It only cost me $25 extra dollars for them to correct my poor self-attempts at installing the bushings. The normal bushing installation cost is $75 per arm, I bring in the arm and bushings. It's well worth it given the aggravation I had been through trying to do it myself.

Thanks Steve, I will take your advise. After talking with other 914 owners they all gave me the same advice. Again thanks.
