could be a few things: - clutch not adjusted right - clutch tube has broken lose in the center tunnel or on the rear firewall - pedal cluster bushings are worn - your tranny is out of oil (i'm sure you noticed by now that they all leak!) - sliders are worn i'm sure there are a few more reasons i forgot to mention, but those are a good starting point and will keep you busy for a while ... It could also be the linkage bushings. Most of 'em just get sloppy, but the one at the firewall connecting the halves of the shift rod just completely desintigrated on me in a couple of days. I was crunching every gear.....

How do u adjust the clutch

You loosen the jam nut on the transmission end of the clutch cable, then loosen or tighten the nut that is against the bushing on the throwout arm. You'll need a pair of 11mm wrenches for this.
Check your Haynes manual. If you don't have one of those--GET ONE!! :D --DD |
