Strange setup.

Finally got my car back about a week ago with the new 2.0 hydraulic lifter motor. WOW!!! pretty big difference over the 1.7 i had in there. After mixing and matching FI parts for over a week, i thought i would let people know what i am running and ask for opinions / known problems. I probably have one of the most diverse collection of parts on my car. the car is now a 72 with 73 GA 2.0L motor and side shifter tranny. I had the motor built with hydraulic lifters and so far have had no problem. The FI has mostly parts from 73 however the part number on the brain i finally wound up using says it is from a 75 i dont have the external rev limiter box on it though, and also the CHT does not have the inline resistor. My mechanac was checking the tail pipe with all the different part setups we tried and this one ran the best. with the 73 brain from my 1.7 it ran lean, it also ran lean when i used the MPS from the later years. I thought i would have a problem running the 75 brain on a mostly 73 system but it seems to run good. I am still having a stumbling problem between 2200 and 2700 under load at light throttle but i think that problem might be comming from the 1.7L distrubter i have in there. Anyone what to trade a 2.0 distributer for my old 1.7L motor? Thanks to everyone who helped me get this thing going especally Glenn for helping me get FI parts. I have pictures of the new and old motors at

if anyone wants to check them out. Thanks again for all the help and comments.

James
