I have a 1972 1.7, and the previous owner removed the fuel inj, to replace it with carbs. I have now got the carbs on, and I need to change the fuel pump. I have the elec fuel pump, and I am about to tackle changing the old one out. Has anyone done this? Can you give me any advice? like where to locate the new pump, which fuel and vaccuum lines need plugged.....
Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Paul

the rotary pump from cb performance works well, is quiet, comes with a mounting bracket, and doesn't require the added exspence of a fuel presure regulator. you will need to close off the fuel return line from the stock pump. this is best done under the fuel tank. pulling the tank is plenty simple. then you can replace the tank to fuel pump line too. i put my pump on the lower firewall.
then while the tanks out you might see some rust down in the tank well that you might as well treat. then you see something else you might as well do "while i'm in there..." k |
