Lowering the rear end

How is this done?? Do you need to get shorter struts, or spring clamps?

Thanks,
Mike

Installing stronger springs (140, 180 etc) lowers the car some as they are shorter to start with. Koni shocks have adjustable spring perches with 3 different heights. Or you can go all the way to threaded collars for the springs which allow more adjustment.

I believe that it's done with the type of springs. If you go the the Pelican website & look at there springs for sale, it says that the 140, 165 & 180lbs. springs will lower the car about an inch.

I also have 205/50 tires (but I'm going to be switching to 60's in the near future.

Attached is a photo of my car which has 140lb springs (unfortunatey, the photo does not have the car on level ground but it definately sits lower than stock):

Thanks Jim....I have koni's on the rear of my car and I've noticed that it looks like you can change the position of the spring perch - I've always wondered it that is what that's for.....................Vern

I have Koni's on my project car, and noticed if I drop the circlip to its lowest position, the spring "slops" around when the wheels are off the ground. I guess one has to be careful that they are in correct position when lowering the car to the ground. Good Luck

Just leve the 30+yr ols springs in there. Thats how I lowered mine. Mi car only has 1/2 to 3/4 inch space between the rim edge and the fender lip. Looks great even if the car dosent. My wife calls it rusty the rust bucket. I just grin and drive. frame is great its just surface rust.

Get some $100 ea. Bilsteins with the adjustable spring perch and maybe some Weltmeister 100 (or is it 110?) or 140lb springs.
