rear caliper rebuild
OK, here's one I could use some help on. My '74's right rear caliper is leaking at the e-brake seal. Dave at Pelican says that rebuild kits frequently are missing the very seal I need to replace including the one that Pelican sells (he also says that he would have it done instead of doing it himself) Well I'm feeling a little brave and very cheap but I want to make sure I get the right kit. Also, Haynes won't even cover rear rebuild procedure, saying that a rebuilt unit must be procured and installed. That scared me. Anyone know what the big deal is and where I would find an outline of the procedure? (the factory manual is out, remember the "cheap" part?)

I think I found the answers I am looking for by doing a search of the archives. Should have known someone had gone through this before

Nevermind, I did a search of the archives and found the info I needed. Should have guessed someone had been through this before.

Has any one ever removed the E brake actuator arm from the caliper?

Thanks for all the posts. I think I'm on the right track now. Just 1 question. How do I get to "GPR" I did a search on the web and got so much crap I though it would easier to ask the people in the know. (I'm still new) I've seen the references enough times to realize that most of you probably have an grease-stained catalog on the bench.
Thanks for the 411! ------------------ Herb |
