In what years are the front struts interchangable between the 911 and the 914?

the ball joints need to match, but those are no big deal.....

Kevin, Porsche didn't make a 911 SC in 1970, they made T, E and S models. Did you intend to say 911S ? Koni shocks have a part number stamped near the bottom of the strut tube. You should track down that part number and make sure it is the right one for your car. Are you replacing just the Koni shock absorber or the whole strut? There could be brake caliper and ball joint issues if you are replacing the whole strut.

The struts themselves are interchangeable--the strut inserts (AKA the shock absorbers) may not be.

My mistake, they did come off a 911 E. The part number is P/N 82R-1647. Another question would be, are these too old to be worth anything? I saw somewhere the opinion that once shocks are three years old they lose their effectiveness.
