Not sure what "look" you are looking for, but why not use rivets instead of screws.
See: http://www.pelicanparts.com/swapmeet_pics/don-glenn/March99/disk3/MVC-016S.JPG for a photo of a 914 with riveted flares. Is this the "look" you are looking for? Owner of this vehicle is James Morris, James M on this list, wuzzy30@hotmail.com. - Dave |

conrad, what wheels are you talking about?
Dave, the "look" is the one where the fender flares are screweed on, with the screw heads spaced evenly along the edege of the flares with the black gasket behind them. |

Conrad,
those rims look like steel rims, there are a few companies that will make them custom sized for you. The only place I can think of right now is Stockton Wheels (?) and for some reason I want to say Diamond as well. Any place that deals with circle track cars should be able to point you in the right direction. TFI, For the flares use button head socket screws. Just make sure you have a fairly large washer on the back side of the fender. On the front of the fender flare, I'd mill down the area flat where you want the screw to pass thru. I think this would give you the look you are after. Make sure you use threadlocking nuts and or Lock-Tite and washers under the screw head and under the nut. ------------------ Mike Mueller Antioch, CA 1970 1.8 http://www.pelicanparts.com/MotorCity/mmueller/personal.html [This message has been edited by mike mueller (edited 10-03-2000).] |
