Whew, it's hot in here!
I am getting heat in the cockpit from the drivers side outlet underneath the dash when the heater lever on the center console is in the "off" position (down). I have new hoses to both right and left heater flapper boxes and new hoses in the engine compartment from the heater fan to both sides. Does this sound like the heater flapper box on the left side is stuck partially open?

It sounds like the flapper valve is open, either because its internal valve is bent or broken or because its operating cable (wire) is misadjusted.
Its only a couple of screws to access...I'm sure you'll figure it out. |

Thanks for the tip. I pulled the unit off the heat exchanger this afternoon and everthing seemed normal. The actuator arm, spring and flappers were all fine. Maybe the flapper valve or the cable got hung up. In any event, the problem seems to be fixed now.
