Parking Brake Light

I am sorry, The light I was referring to was the one with a B and a circle around it. What the heck does this light mean? Thanks, Jon

Brake warning light....either you have low pressure/fluid or the rest button needs to be pushed...it's on the master cylinder.

Be aware that there are some switches that do not have a reset button and you may have to get a new switch. Good luck.

The master cylinder switch works with a small "shuttle" piston, that can shift in one direction or the other, depending on which circuit has low pressure. In the middle is the sensor switch and will trigger when the shuttle piston moves (the piston has a groove in the middle that keeps the switch off). Sometimes it will not automatically reset because the shuttle doesn't recenter itself. You might want to remove the switch to see of the shuttle hung up (if it's centered, you should see the groove). If so, you might need to open the bleeder on the opposite end to allow it to be forced back to center.

Don't forget the other obvious reason that the brake warning light comes on: The parking/emergency brake is on or the wire the switch under the parking brake lever is grounded. These switches are easy to break but fortunately cheap to replace (just a few bucks for a brand new one). A loose wire on the switch could cause the brake warning light to come on at weird times. Just look under the emergency brake handle and you'll see the switch mounted in the floor. One phillips head screw holds it in. Easy to pull and check that the wire is connected and the switch is intact.
