"bucking bronco" when cold......my neck hurts
like the subject says, ive got a 71/4 stock, "bucking Bronco" when cold. its during acceleration up throught 3rd gear. the problem lessens after about 15 min running,
Im currently looking for vac. leaks, and ing. wiring but havent found it yet.I even thought it might be low oil in my (yuck) air cleaner. Im thinking about temp sensors, but am a novice about them, the car just started doing this for the last 2 months, befor that it ran perfect...BTW- the only manual I have is the hanes. any help is VERY welcome, my neck will thank you...... ------------------ any help is welcome ![]() |

Try blowing air through the vac line to the auxilery air regulator. I'll bet it is closed off when the engine is cold. It should be open. Especially if you live in a colder clime the lack of the aux air reg opening will run the idle very low.
If it is bad soak it with PB Blaster (WD-40 is fairly useless for this). It may make it work. If it still is bad buy a used one or you can buy one off a later T-4 bus but you need to adapt it to the 914. If the AAR is working (open when cold, closed off when hot) then test the ohms on the CHT sensor. I think it is 2000-3000 when cold and <300 when hot. |
