Engine Case preference (GA-GB-GC)???
I'm going to be replacing my engine case and currently have a "GC" case. I read somewhere that the earlier cases were better than the later ones. I think becuase of warping or crackign or something... If I had a choice, what code should I look for? Or, are they all really the same?
Thanks, Jason |
probably a GB case as they are the rarest. hehe, they are all the same so find the lowest mileage one to start with. Warping or cracking, hmm, if the case is warped toss it. Cracked? toss next to the warped one in the lake.

The proper motor for your car is a GC. It will keep your value higher.

Thanks guys. Since they all appear to be the same, I'll stay with a GC, assuming I can get one.

If a case is a replacement one you wont find any markings if its a GA or GB or GC.

Stick with the "GC" and have it inspected.
http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/Home_Page.htm is in your state.. Jake always has lots o' them. He even had a "training case" sent to dealers only. I forgot the engine code but it did not turn up in any manual. -Rich Hilgersom |

the cases themselves are all the same... code doesn't matter, only condition
