'72 914 Dashboard removal--how?????

Trying to get the dash out of our 914--any ideas how? We are stumped.

Thanks!

the 9 nuts that are a B*tch to get to will get it... you have to remove the lower dash first though... the worst bolts are the 2 behind the gauge cluster

Pics incoming!

These are photos of the underside of the dash cap, after the cap was removed from the car and was sitting on the ground. The driver's side of the dash is at the right side of the pics, while the passenger's side is at the left in these pics.

Many thanks to SammyTurboWasserV8MohawkBoy for the pics!

You might want to pup a few Xanax first, because you are going to be inclined toward a violent outburst fairly quickly! The Xanax should calm you enough to avoid undue damage to the car :D

Be very careful when removing that top if it's in good condition as it rips easily if your rough with it. The nuts behiend the guages are a *****, but take your time and it will happen. Anyway good luck it's not so bad.

I've removed several dashes and it's not too too difficult. The nuts are plastic and are 13mm. They are difficult to reach but once you get them loose with an end wrench, you can get them undone with your fingers. The dash should come right off so if it's not budging....you've missed a nut. I think the only real difficult ones are the ones just over the gauge panel as the nuts are not easily seen but they're there.
