Hey all, I have a 1970 914 I am doing up. Wanted to know what the majority opinion is on the seat style used on the early models.
Should I keep the original design or upgrade to the later style. The car will be just a weekend fun driver and I don't really care about keeping originality; just want to do what looks better. All the pics I see on sites are of the later design. Is the early design that undesirable? Thanks |

There is nothing so personal as your seating. Different strokes for different folks. Personally I found the 73 seat too hard with not enough support. I replaced it with a recarro many moons ago. Mind you I only had enough money for one so it looks a little srewey. See if you can get a ride in different seats before you make up your mind. Don't rule out the aftermarket.

I saw a plaid cushion go for crazy money on ebay awhile ago.
Anyone has pics of your interiors? has anyone done custom back wall work?
