fuel pump
76 2.0 when car is hot, after sitting awhile, when I turn the key to start there is a bubbling sound from fuel tank. car wont start with out holding pedal to the floor. is fuel evaporating from heat? bad pump?

try turning key off and on until the bubbling stops, then see if it starts normally. The system runs the fuel pump for a couple of seconds when you turn on the key to pressurize the system, and this will purge any air in the lines if that's the problem.
when it starts, does it blow black smoke out the tailpipe? if so, i'd suspect a leaky cold start valve. Hopefully not a bad MPS......
