Oil cooler fittings for 6

Lazy man's question-I have cooler and -16 fittings and lines, what adaptor(s) do I need to mate -16 to the existing lines/engine.

Assume the cooler in question is the one that is on the motor? Summit racing may have the adapters you need

Coolers for a 914/6 OR 4 usually have -12 or -10 AN....16 is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

I have always used coolers with smaller fittings and not used adpaters or step downs. Unless the cooler was a killer deal, best to get one with proper fittings.....

Just my cheap advice...

16 is big, but lots of folks on the other board seem to think a six is better off w/ it, the cooler came w/ it, and I was able to get some surplus lines cheapish.

Thanks-that 's what I needed, the stock size is 36mm. I didn't want to take it apart, measure, then run to the hydraulic shop

You prolly won't find it at the hyd shop.....what has been done in the past....you get some crappy 911 lines, cut the ends off and then measure them and have the hyd shop redo them. You just have to be accurate on the lengths.

With conversion fittings and AN s/s line you can do it at home.

I have some extras 911 fittngs that you can have FREE....just pay the shipping.

I have everything but the "hard line". Do you have some I can use to replace that, Mikez?

You don't NEED a hardline....you can use the s/s flex line or the blue hyd line with push on fittings....then use the 36mm fittings from a 911 line or 36mm to-AN adapters.

The problem is the pitch and 36mm size are not a standard Hydraulic fitting. That's why you use old 911 fittings or an adapter.

Well, that's what I'm looking for, the fittings to connect to the engine and oil cooler where the hard line goes, so I can put a flexible line in there. I was hoping you had some, beyond what you offered to Greg.

I just reexamined mine, the one coming off the oil cooler is probably the 36, I need smaller. What size is the smaller, maybe 32mm?

Thanks for looking Mike. It looks like the 2nd piece of that same hose is the same size, so I'll take that to a fittings shop and try to get the pieces there.
