Looking for shop to build a 2.4L Type 4
 

Can anyone on the list "highly recommend" a shop in the Southern California area (I live about 1 HR north of LA) to build a Type 4 2.4L longblock? I have all the necessary parts. However I would like to have the longblock assembled by "professionals" that "do it for a living".

I am not looking the least expensive shop. I am looking for an HONEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and RELIABLE shop that produces a QUALITY product/engine. If the recommended builder happens to be the least expensive....that would be great

Speaking of costs....what should I expect to pay to have my Type 4 longblock assembled by a professional builder? I've seen the ads in the VW speciality magazines for Type 4 engines. However, I have no idea how much of the costs is actual labor charges as the ads I have seen are for a delivered T4 longblock. Again, I have the parts. I just need a good builder.

Jack - I think FAT Performance in the Orange, CA area is known as one of "the" builders of hi-po Type4's.
